We are the National Blood Authority (NBA), an Australian Government agency that manages arrangements for the supply of blood, blood products and blood-related services in Australia.
We are a statutory agency established by the National Blood Authority Act 2003(Opens in a new tab/window) (Cth).
We are funded by the Australian Government (63%) and Australia's state and territory governments (37%) in accordance with the National Blood Agreement.
Our agency is part of the Department of Health and Aged Care's portfolio.

The National Blood Agreement sets out the blood sector policy objectives for Australia.
Our primary policy objectives are to:

- promote safe, high-quality management and use of blood products, blood-related products and blood-related services in Australia.
