Blood supplies

The National Blood Authority (NBA) and the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood (Lifeblood) closely monitor the national supply of blood and blood products for all Australian states and territories, and manage stock level inventory to ensure adequate supplies are available.

As red blood cell inventory levels may be impacted by a range of variables, and can change quickly, Lifeblood provides daily updates on its inventory on its website.

The inventory levels provided on Lifeblood’s website are indicative only.  They provide information on stocks held by Lifeblood only and do not include inventory held by Australian Health Providers, including hospitals. Inventory levels can be filtered by state or territory and also provide a breakdown of each blood type group.
